Ceiling Fans Light Info

What you need to know before choosing a ceiling fan and/or a ceiling fan light kit A ceiling fan is usually one of the first things a person notices upon entering a room. So choose wisely and think of a ceiling fan as an important investment. As a cost-effective appliance, a ceiling fan can be a decorative accessory and a lighting fixture all in one.

CEILING FANS LIGHT KIT INFORMATION

If you select a ceiling fan with an integrated light kit, (a ceiling fan sold with a light kit included) please be aware that the manufacturer does not recommend replacing the integrated light fixture with any other ceiling fan light fixture.

Neither South Wind Fan & Light, nor the manufacturer can verify that any other ceiling light fixture is compatible with a ceiling fan configured with an integrated light. The ceiling fan with integrated light has been tested, UL Listed and warrantied for the fan as configured by the manufacturer.

Removal of the integrated light, for use without a light, is possible only for those ceiling fans that state the fan can be installed without light kit in the ceiling fans specifications. Replacement of the integrated light kit with any other light kit will void the manufacturer’s warranty. If you are considering replacing an integrated light kit with another light kit, instead select a fan without an integrated light kit and select a separate light kit to suite your style and decorating needs.

There are numerous ceiling fan light kits available in many finishes, glass colors and styles for both indoor and outdoor use. When selecting a light kit for outdoor use, determine if the area where you will need the light kit is considered a damp (covered or protected from direct wet weather elements) or a wet location (subject to direct wet weather elements). You can use a wet location light kit for a damp location, but you cannot use a damp rated light kit in a wet location.

Select the same manufacturer for both your ceiling fan and ceiling fan light kit. Additionally, even within the same manufacturer’s product line, not all light kits are compatible with all that manufacturer’s ceiling fans. If a particular ceiling fan light kit is compatible with only certain models, the specifications will indicate the compatibility for a specific model or models only.

As always, if you have any questions about any of the products on our site, send us an email at orders@ceiling-fans.biz or contact us via phone at 866-476-6585. We’ll be more than happy to assist you.
